Point-of-Entry Treatment (POET) System Replacements
USACE Tulsa District | Lubbock County, TX

Moved, replaced, and/or reinstalled several POET systems to more suitable locations or better insulated enclosures. All existing and replacement enclosures were enhanced by outfitting the areas with pre-wired electric heaters. Additional tasks included: coordinating with the property owners and obtaining the access agreements, proper permits, and utility clearances prior to moving the systems; quarterly sampling; operation and maintenance (O&M); and preparing technical memorandums to document all system replacement activities. The POET system replacements were designed similar to the previous systems including three granular-activated carbon (GAC) vessels arranged in a series with the sediment filter before the first GAC vessel. Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Investigation
USACE Kansas City District | Old Navy Dump/Manchester Annex Site, WA

Conducted a PFAS investigation at the Old Navy Dump/Manchester Annex former fire training area. Collected soil and groundwater samples from 15 locations using a direct push technology drill rig. Managed the characterization, on-site storage, and transportation and disposal of investigation-derived waste from the sampling event. Samples were analyzed for PFAS at an off-site laboratory, and results indicated that PFAS was present at levels that exceeded the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) health advisory for drinking water.
