UESC Energy Conservation Project
NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic | Naval Submarine Base New London, Groton, CT

Developed, designed, and implemented the following energy conservation measures (ECMs) at SUBASE New London: lighting upgrades in 77 buildings; new chilled water system (including direct digital controls upgrade); miscellaneous HVAC upgrades (10 buildings); water conservation in 50 buildings (upgrading 2,785 faucets and 1,556 shower heads); interior transformer retrofits in 22 buildings; compressed air upgrades; H Barracks decentralization; and high mast pier lights (replacing high pressure sodium fixtures with LED fixtures). These ECMs provided $1.2M annually in energy savings. As part of the contract, we provided five years of performance verification to ensure that the installed equipment and controls continue to operate as intended, yielding consistent annual energy savings.
