Constructed a 5,000-SF laser testing facility comprised of a combination of a masonry and pre-engineered metal building. Project highlights: site development from fully forested land requiring extensive civil work and new construction of 2,000 SF of administrative space with an Open Storage security accreditation and 3,000 SF of 18 ft high-bay laboratory area with a mechanical mezzanine inclusive of all structural, architectural, and infrastructure systems. Provided renovations and repairs to modernize historic Building 56. Project highlights: hazardous material abatement; demolition of interior partitions; installation of new HVAC system, exterior louvers, lay-in ceiling, lighting, power and data throughout, new restrooms, and gypsum board walls and framing on interior walls with water and vapor barrier and water-resistant rigid insulation; exterior work including tuckpointing of exterior brick, replacement of missing bricks on exterior and interior, and removal of wood awning brackets, and masonry repairs; removal of windows and shutters and installation of new blast resistant windows where required; repair/replacement of historic exterior wooden doors and hardware to match existing appearance; replacement of porch and roof on the north end of the building; installation of new domestic water service; construction of an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible sidewalk route to the north building entrance from the parking area; installation of ramps up to the entrance and interior raised floor; connection of all utilities; and site work including grading improvements.
