Repaired and modernized four separate living facilities for servicemembers (two 64 suite facilities and two 48 suite facilities). Project required: architectural repairs, including drywall, sheetrock, painting, ceramic tile, sheet vinyl flooring, casework, countertops, and acoustical ceiling grid/tile; plumbing upgrades, including the replacement of the existing hot water storage tanks, circulating pumps, expansion tanks, new sinks and shower drains, and replacement of domestic water valves; electrical upgrades including the replacement of receptacles, ceiling fans, and light fixtures; and mechanical repairs, including the installation of new HVAC controls and pass-through ductwork. National Park Service | Organ Pipes Cactus National Monument, Ajo, AZ

Upgraded two spring heads, a conveyance channel, and a 0.75-acre man-made pond serving as surge storage capacity. The site has been inhabited by tribal heritages, ranchers, and missionaries and used as a sacred area for ceremonies for hundreds of years and is the habitat/water source for numerous desert creatures. Project highlights: construction of refugias for holding/protecting wildlife during construction; installation of pipe to provide a bypass for the spring; dewatering; compaction of berm and pond excavation and reconstruction; liner installation and placement of 1,200 cu. yds. of cover; placement of rock/stone to provide habitat for the endangered species and limit plant growth; construction of concrete channel from the spring to the new rock channel to allow for upstream migration; construction of an inlet rock chute from the new concrete channel to the pond; and site restoration including reintroducing the displaced wildlife. Executed emergency spillway and toe berm construction activities as part of a dam safety remediation project. Project highlights: wetland mitigation; grading; construction of a diversion berm; excavation and construction of a rip rapped end trench; installation of high-performance turf reinforcement mat; construction of a gravel access road; placement of a sand blanket drain; construction of a toe drain seepage collection system, including a vertical trench drain component and perforated pipe collection system; placement of filter material around the existing 36-in reinforced concrete outfall pipe; construction of a plunge pool; placement of sod; and vegetation maintenance.
